In the upcoming 3rd instalment of the CTFAS Webinar series, we will be covering the highly anticipated topic: Claims! Claims play a very important part in communicating the effects expected from a product to the consumers. The ASEAN PIF Guidelines specifies that claim support documents must be in the PIF (summary in Part I, full reports in Part IV).

During the webinar, we will consider the following:

  • What constitutes a claim?
  • What claims are allowed?
  • How to assess or measure the effectiveness of a product?
    • We will review the various methods to measure the efficacy of different claims in skincare and hair care.

Meet Your Trainers:

Dr Alain Khaiat

Dr Khaiat was awarded the first in-cosmetics Lifetime Achievement Award in Paris in April 2010. With 40 years of experience in the cosmetic industry, he has served as V.P. R&D and QA with Johnson & Johnson, Yves Rocher and Revlon. In 2006, Dr Khaiat founded SEERS Consulting.

Dr Khaiat is the current President of the CTFA, Singapore; he was also the former Chairman (2014-2019) of the ISO TC 217 (cosmetics), and the former Chairman of the ASEAN Cosmetic Association (2009- 2011 and 2017 – 2019).

Dr Khaiat is a member of the following cosmetic groups: the ASEAN Cosmetic Scientific Body, and the International Dialogue for the Evaluation of Allergens (IDEA) Supervisory Group, a joint project between IFRA and the EU commission.

 

 

 

Ms Bandana Seesurn

CIDP (Centre International de Développement Pharmaceutique) is a private and independent CRO carrying out research and clinical activities for the pharmaceutical, medical device, nutrition and cosmetic industries. With offices in Mauritius, Brazil, India, Romania and Singapore, CIDP group conducts a wide range of safety and efficacy studies.

Ms Bandana Seesurn, Managing Director, CIDP Singapore oversees the day-to-day operational management of clinical trials and leads a multi-disciplinary team whose mission is to deliver high-quality and timely execution of clinical development plans. She has over 13 years of experience in clinical research gained in healthcare organisations and CROs in the United Kingdom and Mauritius. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science with Management.
